Level Design / Level Background Design

Power Game Factory allows for several types of scrolling backgrounds. Standard Backgrounds consist of large images occupying the entire area of a level. Tiled Backgrounds are comprised of a grid of small square images arranged to cover the level area. Each type of background has its advantages, as explained in the Level Backgrounds page in the Elements of a Game section.

The following links provide complete directions on how to design standard and tiled backgrounds:

After completing a level background, The Levels Window's Mask mode can be used to specify which parts of the newly constructed background are made of solid material, and which parts are made of empty space. The use of Mask mode is discussed in the Solid Material Mask Editing section.
